I know this was supposed to be Caesar's Palace (another metaphor if you will for Tony's crumbling empire..possible foreshadowing of assassination by someone close to him?), but I thought the Pompeii reference was very interesting....destroyed by Mt Vesuvio (Tony once destroyed Artie Bucco's Vesuvius)
That's a very interesting observation, as many have speculated that Arite might play some role in Tony's ultimate downfall. Certainly something to keep an eye on.
Tony, his spirits crushed after b-lining to the fridge first thing in the morning: "Who ate the last piece of cake?"

Does anybody here know if that is an actual game title? I believe the devil symbol is a Bally gaming symbol but I can't find anything on that particular title. We don't have it at my casino. The glass on that title looked pretty generic and I have searched on line and have not found anything about it.

If this is actually not a true theme than the reference would make alot of sence. Not that I don't think this theory is good, I do think it is a very good theory and very plausible.

I believe they created that glass for that shot, but if it is a real title that I am unfamiliar with it would have been picked for a reason. If they just wanted the devil picture they could have selected diamonds and devils which has a couple the same devil heads on the actual glass and not on a seperate topper.:icon_evil:

Tony lately has been saying "Poor you!" with exactly Livia's intonation and talking about ...

He's also been saying the same kind of thing that Junior used to say to him. Remember him saying to AJ (in the session with AJ's shrink and Carm), "You're a momma's boy!". If you listen to that it is exactly the same intonation that Junior used to use when talking about Tony.

I seem to recall one of the things Junior used to say is, "He's a hothouse flower". Whatever that means. I may be mistaken, but that is what I seem to recall.

There was a headline on the paper in Soprano Home Movies called "2007 Budget", but then budgets are supposed to be released at the end of the prior fiscal year, which for 2007 is June 30, 2006.

Tony celebrates birthday 47 in the first ep, and he was born August 22nd of 2006 (Another Toothpick). This points to a late summer, 2006 start for season 6b.

Paulie starts the conversation about Willie Overall with "Labor Day, 1982", and we later learn that this was one week before Meadow's birth. So Meadow turned 24 sometime around Stage 5.

The one discrepancy is that Tony tells Paulie with great self assurance that he was 22 when he killed Willie. In fact he would have just turned 23 a week or so before if born in August. But I think Chase and company aren't bothered by a discrepancy that small.

i think its 2007, the star ledger says hurricanes win second straight cup, and as everybody knows they won their first in 2006.

Interesting post mperkins. And also notice that that verse is preceded by these...

(From http://www.newadvent.org/bible/mat005.htm_

5:43. You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy.
Audistis quia dictum est diliges proximum tuum et odio habebis inimicum tuum

5:44. But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you:
Ego autem dico vobis diligite inimicos vestros benefacite his qui oderunt vos et orate pro persequentibus et calumniantibus vos

5:45. That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.
Ut sitis filii Patris vestri qui in caelis est qui solem suum oriri facit super bonos et malos et pluit super iustos et iniustos

So certainly the sun rises upon us all, and we are ALL sinners of some sort-- (i don't see how i'm better than the Soprano family, even if i haven't murdered a bunch of people), but i'm not sure just how it connects, because i think the point of that verse is to also say how if we want to be a child of God, we need to also do good to our neighbors that hate us as well. We (should) return hatred with Love. in Tony's general world, they usually have the vendetta thing going on, with revenge: eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth (stuck in Tony's cuff!), etc.

However, per another post of mine, i definitely think Tony has reached a turning point of approaching forgiveness with Junior when he went to visit him. What better way to face the unknown (the blackout?) before the Other Side, than to have forgiven all the people you had grudges against?

btw, was it for sure a sunrise, or could it have been the sunset? either way- a very spiritual moment, an epiphany. Maybe Tony discovered he was already "forgiven" for even such a horrible deed as killing his own 'nephew'. Amazing but True. (forgiven not by us viewers necessarily, but by God thru his Son (sun).
