with so much of this weeks episode concerning what tony is going to do regarding rusty milo, i realized i didnt really know exactly who he is, or where he stands, other than what we saw last season.

is he a captain in the lupertazi crew? johnny sac says he should have been boss after carmine died.why should he have been boss after big carmine died? i thought the top job was between johnny sac and little carmine. can someone please explain?

It actually appears that when Carmine Sr. died, the vacant Boss' job could have been filled by Rusty or Johnny Sac. Rusty apparently wanted to be the Boss, but he didn't want the exposure to the Feds that comes along with it, so he propped up Little Carmine as his "puppet" candidate (much like Tony put Junior in the position, as a lightning rod for the feds, but Tony is really the Boss).
