No Meadow this time

1
It was strange that they didn't show Meadow talking on the phone from California. Usually if two main characters are talking on the phone for a while, I'd expect to see both parties. And Meadow talked to at least Tony and Carm, if not others, and was waiting around for Tony to get to the phone for a while. It seemed odd that she wasn't shown at all.

Is Jamie Lynn Sigler coming back next season? Was she unavailble during the shooting of this episode? Perhaps it's nothing, but it seemed odd, the way they almost went out of their way to not have Meadow on camera in this epsiode, and it makes me wonder if they are going to just have her character stay out in California and be almost written out of the series. Hopefully not.

I'm almost glad that she is out of the line-of-fire. It makes sense that she's gone, for these 3 reasons...

-Remember Carm and T's conversation earlier in the show about Adrianna leaving town b/c of her mother?? After hearing this, it made sense that we didn't see Meadow.

-Also, it appears as if she is following the path of Janice when she was Meadow's age.

-From last episode when she indicated that she may not be around for Christmas, she told her parents not to pressure her into anything (traveling back for Holidays).

With all the sh!t going down in the last episodes, I am glad that Meadow isn't getting directly involved in any of the storylines. Anyways, many kids her age feel the need to break free and display their strength by forming their own lives. I'm glad that Meadow is taking full advantage of her opportunity.

OGM, I was thinking that it might be something like that, but they could have still put her on camera for the phone call, since it was an episode from the current season. The threat to pretty much write her out would still be there, if needed.

It's probably nothing, but it just seemed odd to not show her. I guess they don't have to pay her for this episode this way, so there's that.

Well, I agree with the fact that Jamie Lynn-Sigler has other projects in the works. This show is about family, and Meadow is about 24in age. She graduated from Columbia or is in the process and that is the time in an adult's life to move on from home, and start to live thier own life. She has had one too many not important storylines in this show. She served her purpose on Seasons 1 & 2 to break her parents balls while in high school, liek many kids do at that age, and then they made the awful mistake in season 3 of making her love life a storyline twice. Lets be glad she is gone lol.

How true, unfortunately my daughter (early thirties) never did this and still lives at home with her mother (my un-remarried ex-wife). She claims she has a responsibility not to leave her mother "all alone." In essence she is giving up her life and has no sense of the independence she should now have.
