Forgive me if someone else has mentioned this before, and if it needs moved, I apologize, but I noticed after re-watching the episode again, when Bobby comes in to tell the guys about what happened to Vito, Murmur was in the room.
I would think they would not want to be talking about this while he is in the room, considering he is not a made guy.

How well do they really know him?

I believe he is part of Christopher's crew. He has been involved with "activities" this season.

That's true, but Tony came close to offing Chris more than once, and think about after Chris was made, the new rules regarding checking for wires on made men included him. Pauley got a big kick out of it, as did Tony. "I guess you could call that a dick."

Murmur would find out about it anyway, even if he wasn't in the room; Christopher tells him everything.

I know some have speculated he is a "fed" but I can't buy it. He has paod for stolen credit card numbers and sold them to the Arabs, he helped Chris with the great Lauren Bacall's gift basket heist (as getaway driver), he roughed up J.T. Dolan with Chris and Benny. This guy is not a fed and the Soprano crew is not afraid to talk in front of him.

Benny isn't made either, but he's privvy to a lot that goes on.

I think the whole reason murma was showed collectin the numbers and selling them was to squash the idea that he's a fed.
