This episode has four key players - Tony, Chris, Artie and Benny. Artie and Benny get into a feud, which Tony attempts to mediate, while we also see Chris off doing his thing in Hollywood, and relapsing into drug use. The choice of using Benny in the Artie plotline seems like he was just another side character the writers wanted to give a brief spotlight to. However, once Tony and Chris reunite at the end of the episode and Chris delivers this line, it became suddenly very meaningful: Artie is Tony's best friend, and Benny is Chris' best friend. These characters having a feud serve as sort of a surrogate for the deep-rooted conflicts between Tony and Christopher themselves.
