Cowboy movie?

Does anyone know what the movie was that Tony had on in his hospital room when Helen came to plead for Jason? I loved the one shot of Paulie listening in the foreground while the movie was just behind him.

Hud? Really? It looked like a much older movie to me, like from the 30's. But then I just couldn't see the scenes very clearly, and I haven't seen Hud in a long time.
