what does tony really believe?

Does Tony s really believe Tony b had nothing to do with the murder of PEEPS? The episode never clearly illustrated whether Tony bought his cousins excuse. when Tony s says "even if I did, would you really want to know?" was that Tony S's way of admitting he actually killed peeps or was is just a good way of shifting the blame?
