George

I was just wondering if anyone could verify who this George guy who brokered the sit-down is. Tony says something along the lines of, "You're not really with that family and your mostly retired".

Anyone know if this guy is a boss of one of the other families that does business with NY? Or is this guy a Lupertazzi Captain who has retired?

The fact that he had an entourage with him and that he was even called upon to broker the meeting implies that he's someone of great importance.

The HBO episode guide for "Made in America" simply refers to him as George without any information about what position he holds.

George used to work for NY which is why it was stuoido of Tony to call him to broker the meeting. He worked for PHIL.

In real life there are 5 Mob families in NY. George would likely be a respected elder capo--or maybe even a semi-retired boss--from another Mob family. Someone respected, without a dog in the fight, and with the stature to broker a peace and make everyone abide by the terms.

And it was pretty much settled at the sit-down that Phil would go.
