I was reading about Chickentown and I believe that the original version had the word "fuckin" instead of "bloody" which they obviously could have used b/c it's cable. Was DC choosing the "bloody" version to tell us something (it says "bloody" quite a bit).

Also of note, the first line is "The bloody cops are bloody keen." Thought that was pretty interesting. What is this song telling us and why was it put in the episode (besides it being a totally fucking awesome song for the ending).

The song wouldn't have had the impact or meaning if instead of 'bloody' it said 'f**king.' Bloody is a terrible English curse word, though Americans probably see it only as bad as, say, 'damn.' But because of the basic meaning -- lots of blood -- it is scary and foreboding as well as angry. Actually a haunting song, esp in juxtaposition with the christening. Chilling.
