Tony and Artie

I'm very happy that they made up, too. As for Tony's motives, I'm sure he had many, as he often does: Artie is his childhood friend and he did want to patch things up. But I'm sure he doesn't mind having a chef around, either. Plus, he really needs a friend around.

Maybe he thought that with Tony B coming back, he'd have some companionship (other than Valentina and some random woman of the moment). But when Tony B didn't pan out in that sense, he figured that Artie would be a good choice.

And I thought it was hilarious when Artie got punched (or smacked, or poked) in the eye while trying to hold Janice back. It reminded me of the Columbus Day episode. Artie is really a funny physical comic.
