I would personally love to see him fry just because. I did enjoy the Carmella/Wegler storyline though because it allowed us to see another facet of Carmella's character a little more clearly AND I thought maybe it allowed Carmella to see herself a little more clearly too. (how she is much more the manipulator than she could ever admit and so on) I was kind of bummed though that my idea of Carmella having a sudden epiphany about the kind of person she really is, didn't turn out like I had hoped. Instead of owning the dysfunctional behavior as her own she instead blamed it on Tony when she told her father Hugh through her tears that: (and please, Don't quote me on these exact words as they are only what I personally remember of the exchange)"No matter what I do in life, because I was married to a man like Tony, people will always question my motives." I realized at that point that Carmella has not only gone through life with Tony completely with blinders on concerning the depth of his activities but also in complete and utter denial about her role in the continuance of Tonys life in the mob. I didn't like the Wegler character because he was just to "mooshy" for me and I couldn't stand the idea of anyone other than Tony in Carm's life!

I think there is too many other things developing right now for Tony to focus on beside Wegler. Perhaps Wegler was just a vehicle for Carmela's character to be further revealed to us, the audience and to herself. She is not that careless to let that one slip after she saw what Tony's response to the much more innocent Furio situation was. I was hoping that he would be castrated or something by Tony's crew, but now I just kind of hope they sweep it under the rug. It would be disappointing with all the progress that has been made with moving toward a reconcilliation, to throw that information into the pot.

I think you hit the nail on the head amyhoo. They probably will sweep the whole thing under the rug (for now) if we're gonna see Carmella and Tony back together. It's probably far too late in the game now to continue on with that story line since there are only two to go for this season and 10 (it's been suggested) for the next and final go around. (sigh<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> ) Wegler was an excellent "vehicle" as you said, for us to see a bit more clearly the complexities that make Carm who she is. I think it softened her somewhat in my eyes...made her so much more human instead of the tough, hardened, embittered Carmella that she has been portraying throughout the separation/divorce storyline. The Wegler character though just seemed so completely the opposite of Tony, so far from "manly" that he just kind of creeped me out I guess...I was shocked when the word pussy came out of his mouth! Don't get me wrong...I love a man who is sensitive but I like him to be a little hard around the edges. Oh Damn, OK! I admit it! The evil, killer types have
always turned me on!

Kim, I totally agree with you on the man thing. Lol, if carmela was my personal friend, I would be astounded at what she has put up with, but I find myself pulling Tony and Carmela to make it. I really think they will. It's funny, because I was in my very early 20's when this show premiered and I viewed Carm and Tony like parental figures, and now that I am older, and AJ is almost out of the house, they are letting us see the dynamics of this marriage, and how this "rough around the edges" man really feels about his wife. She is really his protector, not visa versa which he has alway seen himself as.
But don't get me wrong, I love the action side of this show too, I'm not all about the gushy stuff... lol.
This show is so unusual in how they have such an old style of living among them in a modern setting, it brings out the romanticism in this show.

Phil Leotardo

In Test Dream, Phil Leotardo says that he can't die because "I've got kids and my kids got kids."

What do you make of that, if anything, based on what we saw last night and his threat to Tony? I'm thinking it might be a reference to Meadow, if she were pregnant.....

Tony & Carm

Gandolfini is superb! He takes this character to the ultimate limits and Falco interacts with him perfectly.

I am very happy that Tony & Carm got back together. I originally thought that it would be next season, but happy just the same.
