Re: What do you want...?

i don't want to much denoument as that is not really realistic...

i want chase to hold true to his vision, whatever that may be

i want meadow to be the next don, finn and meadow to break up, tony to eff him up, i really wnat tony and carm to express to her how upset they are that she is giving up on stuff for a while to be with a loser, i want them to express that they married to young and gave up lots of life expreience to have a family and all that (tony had 2 semseters of college...hehe)

i want tony to go back to being the zen buddist warior i thought he was gonna be, untill ast weeks bj sequence

i want carmella to either admitt she loves the life or stop being complacent...serious repurcussions either way

i dont really care at all if there is any fuirio or ade( if anything her in the car with the recently deceased, afetr a talk with tony and carm)) as they were great charchters, but just that, charachters on a tv show

i hope paulie gets it from the russian...i have waited forever for this...i know chase says the russian ain't coming back, but...really he should...i mean to shoot a dead horse the blood trail lead to a tree and ended, paulies car was gone...i mean really wtf r we supposed to think...especially since tony still laundered his money with the other russians....wouldn't the smart thing to do here be to wait it out and strike when we least expect, then again chase made his mind up about all this 2 years ago, and knows how much the fans want this, but he has always been about the art not the hype (not really)

i want paulie to be all torn up from the cancer, as in many ways he was a cancer on the family(talking to js, his insubordinece, fights with chrissy etc.) but bite it from the russian, if not the hassidic jews somehow, even though that is more far fetched than the russians

i want chrissy to make it, but more and more every day i am starting to think he may die and at the hands of tony....i hope not, but

i kinda want aj to really fuck up this job or get busted for drugs and tony to tell him one more strike and carm finds out...i imagine at some point she will "did the best she could" to aj as a result of this and tony will no longer protect him

i want more uncle june and sil, but i think they may have run their course

i want janice to die a violent death at the hands of a drunk baccala, that will really piss tony off, but give him some weird sorta respect for the train conducter

hmm..who else did i forget...oh phil leotardo....well i always found it funny how he touched vitos hand at dinner, at that moment i thought either at one point they were together or were right then...i want it to come out that he was a closeted gay man who never came out due to his old school values...and that he was the annonymous source that talked to the newspaper.......uhm basically i want him to die, but for i do enjoy watching him since he is suck a dick

i want more johnny sack however chase is gonna give it to me....

oh and what i want the most...and this is rediculous..i have wanted this since seaon one, it is the idealist in me...tony to get out of the life, the very thing he wouldnt give eugene in members only...i want him to move to colorado or some shit and become a patio furniture salesmen

i do not want tony to get with dr melfi ever, but have a weird feeling it may finally happen, but he may stop it before it gets intense....i hope at least..at least another melfi and elliot scene as i love them

wow that was a rant.....but really i will eat up whatever chase gives me...sorry for all the typos and lack of sentence structure...i just went all stream of counciousness..maybe i will edit this, but doubtful

I want some sense of payoff for buying into six seasons worth of escalating foreplay on the issue of fundamental character change for Tony Soprano. I want him to suffer some horrible tragedy, but I want him to finally, permanently, morally change.

However Chase chooses to get there is fine with me. But I think I will feel very let down if, at the end, Tony is still just a mob boss who steals, occasionally kills people, routinely cheats on his wife, and spends the bulk of his life chasing money, food, sex, and other transient comforts and distractions to avoid dealing with the fundamental emotional, moral, and spiritual crises at his core.

And if HE can't change, then I will accept a similar "arc" in the evolution of Carmela as a consolation prize.

A girl can dream...

I would love to see a real comeuppance for AJ. I do know that a lot of y'all see him as a young version of Tony or a typical kid, but I really would like to see him roughed up and given a reality check. It has to be a personal one, too--because the "bad stuff" that happens to those close to him, like friends, or Dad, don't seem to penetrate his head. He's way too Kato Kaelin (spelling?)-esque for me.

I would love to see a reckoning for Christopher--and I think this will happen. For the drugs, for his treatment of Adriana, for all the times that he should have been whacked but wasn't. Does this mean death? Not necessarily.

I need a gut check from Carmella and Tony. You can't go on and on about the spec house and repress what you know to be true about Adrianna's fate. Ade's blood is all over that house....so much of everything they touch is blood money. Carm has to come clean about this. And Tony has to come clean about what being weaned by Johnny, Livia and Junior meant to him. He has to say it out loud, and I think he needs to say it to both Melfi and to Carmella.

I would love to see Johnny Sack out of jail on a technicality.

And I want to see Jennifer Melfi, MD get some hot monkey sex from Tony Soprano, even if it's in a dream sequence. That girl deserves it.

None of this will happen, of course.....but it's nice to think about.

A wonderfully satisfying ending for my money was Alan Ball's conclusion to Six Feet Under. Character change emerged as the intensification of authenticity as opposed to the installation of a new false self. The anxiously avoidant and dependent became less people-pleasing...less de-selved. Similarly I would respect a consistency along the personality construction of these (Soprano) characters. People just do not change how they are characterologically organized...a few behavioral modifications may be shaped...but we are who we are. Maybe some major reversal might act as a catalyst for increasing authenticity, but I don't much care how that event might look. I am just enjoying the ride.

Gee, how do you find a job like that? I've been searching the want-ads for years. That type of hedonistic job is hard to come by...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

I would like to see time fast forward to some future date, showing a new generation of NJ/NY O.C. looking back at the foibles of the mob of 2000-2006. Sort of like a "back to the future" tribute to the show. I know it sounds corny but I surely don't want to see it end as a dream sequence, or some bloody shootout where all the main characters meet their demise.

I'm hoping DC will come up with something unique to allow the show bow out with a memorable bang. (no pun intended)

For the last episode of the season:
Something happen to AJ, either good where he starts to mature and finds a meaning to his life, maybe under his father or bad where he ends up dead or crippled. Tony losing a son would be a huge loss and affect him seriously. It would parallel with his losses in the mob family (like with Vito, despite his gay side). Most importantly it would really set up his need to decide as to the mob life or rejecting it.
Ada's body turns up, like some hiker with their dog locates her body in the woods, in a shallow grave. This would really set up the fall of Tony and his two families as the Feds would really go after her killers as she was an informant.
Meadow bail out on Finn and come back to NJ.
Carm makes a decision on the spec house, gets some profit out of it and stashes it away for her 'escape' in case Tony dies or goes to jail.
Carm and Tony having it out like in a past season, confronting about the women, the risk she and the family has been put under, knowing that Ada was murdered by Tony's orders as it will come out about Ada being an FBI informant on Tony's mob family.
I don't really want to see a 'war' between NY/NJ. With Sack in jail, they need to lay low for a while, not attract attention from the Feds. I think Carmine will be a 'broker' of a deal between Tony and Phil.
Chris either go straight or die a horrible death with drugs. For Tony, it would be like losing AJ.
Have Junior die, then Tony really becomes the boss. That could be a great set up as to the beginning of the end.
Have Paulie die of his Cancer or take his own life. He has a lot of problems and guilt must be hitting him too.

For the series (next year)
I agree with Bcorsale, perhaps for the last episode of the last 8 group: "I would like to see time fast forward to some future date, showing a new generation of NJ/NY O.C. looking back at the foibles of the mob of 2000-2006. Sort of like a "back to the future" tribute to the show. I know it sounds corny but I surely don't want to see it end as a dream sequence, or some bloody shootout where all the main characters meet their demise".

Maybe the real purgatory for Tony would be getting charged and jailed for ordering the murder of Ada, then like John Gotti, die a few years later of Cancer (note he had a skin cancer issue before, Paulie's cancer, his own fragile health). While he would be 'tough' and not give in at first, he may realize that this may be the fate he has to take for his attitudes toward his blood and mob family. We see the parallels with Sack's situation. I would assume Carm already fears this. This would destroy both families as it has with Sack's in his jailing.
