Nothing was said about T paying for the whole house. The only thing we saw was that T was arranging for them to buy the house for half its value.

But, if you can buy a house for half its value, I'm pretty sure you can arrange some creative financing to make it extremely easy for you to meet the monthly payments. So, if Bobby had some equity in his old house and sold that, it could be close to getting the new house for free.

I'm sorry if it seems my remarks in this post tend to single you out. In fact, I've been becoming unhappy lately with a number of people who seem to be complaining that there is something wrong or distasteful about the gay content this season.

I wonder if you might care to guess how many people who read this forum are offended and/or hurt by the proposition that there is something wrong or distasteful about them or their lifestyle.

I think you should certainly be entitled to express your opinions about this issue. But it pains me that so many people are bound to be offended by them.

I can understand if the moderators of this forum feel that I should just leave this issue up to them. Then again, perhaps they are waiting to see if anyone objects?

Perhaps things are fair if they are just left as they stand. You expresed the opinion that you didn't like the gay content. I expressed the opinion that a bunch of folks are bound to be offended and/or hurt by that. Pehaps that is a reasonable exchange and nothing more needs to be said?

I kind of felt the same way. When Janice first started picking on Bobby Jr, I thought that Tony disapproved, but toward the end, the last shot of Tony looked like he admired her for being firm.

Yet I find that very hard to believe. I need to watch again, but maybe he was somewhat bemused at how much like Livia Janice has become.

For me, frankly I don't care if Vito and Johnny Cakes blow each other so hard they explode. I am just uncomfortable watching a lot of it. I really don't think the "gay" content is the basis of most people's dissatisfaction with this subplot, though it's certainly a part of it. For me the problem has been that Vito was previously such a minor character that I never gave a shit about, and here I'm supposed to care about his endless foray into New Hampshire, staying at a B&B, ordering pancakes and working as a volunteer firefighter? Please. He could be banging Keira Knightley and I still wouldn't give a crap about him.

This storyline should have ended at least two episodes ago; it's obvious. They could have had Vito out of sight and out of mind and only showed us his escape and return; we know how this show likes to leave certain things to the imagination, and that's where Dartford and James Hetfield and all this other stuff should have stayed, especially when many of the "major" characters have been given the short shrift in terms of screen time this season.

So far as I can see, the storyline's only redeeming value is its significance relative to Tony, both its potential to ruin relations with Phil and its obvious parallels to Tony's Finnerty fantasy. I guess we'll have to see the final two to find out whether the payoff redeems its presence.
