i think tony was being holier than reality in the coma since he was scared.feeling still the devil on his butt he is trying to be a holy, but somehow he did do a sin now although he didnt want to...and voila soon his little thing will spray again, either because he was sinning or because he feels innocent and did his job.
wouldnt wonder me, if vito bites it soon.

Re: "I Yam what I Yam"....Tony's Sexuality
12It had been implied previously in this season that Tony could be weakening,in all the necessary areas.I think the next manifestation of Tony's weakening will be impotence.(He used to dream of losing his power by his penis falling off,and a bird flying away with it)
He may try to compensate by keeping appearances in front of his "friends",but his life with Carmela may become strained again for this reason.
This,I believe, could be a way Tony will have to pay for his misdeeds; a series of humiliations. It's probable there will be many to come in Tony's future.

13Hadn't considered impotence . . . hope it doesn't go that way, though you make a good point.
Fly, that is a good summary and I don't have time today for a thoughtful response -- but I hope you will keep this thread as it's own subject so we can discuss how it develops in the rest of the season. I believe there was a similar discussion in another thread regarding the scene with the vitamin e oil, and my response here would likely be similar to that one. Looking forward to seeing what happens tonight.
Quick question -- wasn't the NDE faithfulness because the woman said no, not Tony? I will have to rewatch to be sure, but I think she said she saw the happiness on his face or in his voice when he talked to his wife and therefore she said nothing was going to happen between them.

Re: "I Yam what I Yam"....Tony's Sexuality
14I honestly don't know if it makes sense to move this thread here, what with the "Tony Changing" thread moved as well. But as this thread had a forward looking inquiry about how Tony would rediscover sex, I thought it would be useful to consolidate here the commentary on at least the "mechanical" aspects of it.:-)
To the extent you want to comment on the character changes shown by the last scene, do that in the "Tony Changing" thread instead.

Re: "I Yam what I Yam"....Tony's Sexuality
15I think it's a good idea to move the thread, Fly. It will certainly be of some interest after this episode. But I agree also - much of this subject will certainly be part of a possible Tony changing discussion. In many ways, this particular subject informs the greater whole of that possible change.

Re: "I Yam what I Yam"....Tony's Sexuality
16I see they omitted the "Did you come?" line from the bed scene. I wonder why. Seemed to fit Tony's insecurity about Carmela referring to it only as "nice".
I haven't Tivoed yet and wonder if anyone caught what Tony said to Melfi that touched off the conversation about "extra curricular" sex. Did he say something about the sex with Carmela not being satisfying? Or did he say that SHE didn't like it?

Re: "I Yam what I Yam"....Tony's Sexuality
17Because there is no tv in my home, I rarely ever get to see an episode live. Circumstances tonight let me, and what an episode. I can't re-watch until tomorrow -- but thank you for keeping this thread, I think it deserves it's importance as a part of Tony's change and is somewhat definining. But I think a character's sexuality is defining.

Fly,
He's likening AJ to a "bad smell" and says it's not good for him and Carm - "no aphrodisiac". And since he's been feeling better since the shooting, you couldnt blame a man for looking for some extra curricular activity in that sense.
So I guess the answer to your question is "neither"
