Season 6.1 had a lot of commentary about the state of corporate America, especially in "Luxury Lounge" and "Johnny Cakes". The whole "it's over for the little guy" storyline was kind an elaboration of the Artie plotline back in "Lounge", which showed Artie's bitterness at his constant failure as a legitimate small business owner.
Taps, lights out, 2200 hours. What's missing? Give up? Television.
