Tony continually treated Ralphie different or gave him passes because he was a good earner while others warned against it. Now he's willing to give Vito a pass, despite objections, because he's a good earner.

2and vito will kill finn because of it...driving a wedge between him and meadow, or making her become fully involved

Re: Those (Tony) who fail history, are doomed to repeat it
3His earning, while a part of it, is not all of it. The conversation with Melfi, his "you gonna take care of his kids?!", and his criticism that some guys just love the "drama" and wanna whack anybody anytime just for the sake of whacking show he's thinking about more than money.

Re: Those (Tony) who fail history, are doomed to repeat it
4Don't necessarily see Finn getting whacked, although I'm still at a lost to explain why Tony paraded that poor kid in front of his blood-thirsty colleagues instead of just reporting what Finn told him second hand. Vito first has to decide his own life isn't over before he worries about taking someone else's for hollow revenge. If the damage hadn't already been done and he could save his reputation by killing Finn, then it would be a given. I'm not convinced there's enough reason left for it to happen at this point.

5He may have personal conflict, but he will lose respect. He lost respect due to his handling of Gigi, Jackie Jr., Ralph, Tony B., and Johnny Sac.
Was he thinking of the kids of Mikey, Ralph, or Tony B.?

6you can kiss that goodbye
Now that Vito secret is out - if Finn was to die - it will point back to Vito. Even if T gives Vito a pass ( i doubt it) he still has to worry about Phil ( old school) not having that.

Re: Those (Tony) who fail history, are doomed to repeat it
7I agree with FOMW there is no reason for Vito to kill Finn, it's irrelavent it's already out and too many people know that won't help anything.

Re: Those (Tony) who fail history, are doomed to repeat it
8I agree with FOMW and the previous poster--if Finn were to die, all roads would lead to Vito. And if that happened, Vito would be gone for sure. I think that Vito has to go in order for Tony to remain well respected. If Tony doesn't do it, Phil will. Phil is Marie's cousin--he's probably the most capible/willing to do it--and he should. Vito has violated his wife's trust.

Anyone else think that seemed like a comment at least a little bit aimed towards the audience? Obviously its not really very important, but it seemed pretty clear to me that it was happening, and I thought that was pretty funny.

10i don't think it was address to the viewers. it was towards the member of his crime family. tony is thinking like a business man about how much money he will lose with vito ( if killed)
but a decision must be made / just like Tony B
He gotta Gone
bad for business
