Nice to see this particular thread has developed a bit of an Irish theme. As a current resident in Ballsbridge in Dublin City Centre (and formerly of Nenagh, Co. Tipperary), I too am seriously enjoying this season (via Bittorrent and my DVD burner).
Having spent the last few Monday evenings enjoying each new episode and then studying these forums the following day I cant imagine having to wait for RTE to show this season - and with lots of commercial breaks - aaaagh!

These forums are a godsend until I have someone to discuss the show with once it airs here. Although I cant imagine every nuance getting the same analysis. (Where else are people going to ponder the significance of an 'unidentified black male' on a hospital trolley?)
But isn't that what the Internet is for!

Favourite quote? Definitely Tony's return to form once he realised the motives of the Insurance rep in his hospital room. It had me hitting the rewind button.

Favourite moment - Paulie's lonesome weeping had me sympathetic. Feelings that were swiftly diminished following his all-too-characteristic violent attack on the loved-son.

Tony with the Reverend:

"Well heres what I'm getting at - I'm worried about viagra and the way I see it I'm gonna need plenty of that considering my condition. And what if somebody decides that viagra is wrong - god don't like it"

"Well god loves procreation. No one is saying anything against viagra. Birth control and the morning after pill is a sin because it strikes at life - at the unborn.

"What if somebody goes after Viagra. I'm not talking about procreation. *Pointing to Carmela* - And listen up because this effects you too.

Quote:
No one ever knows Sligo, but everyone knows Donegal.

Well, Kev, I admit I didn't know of Ireland's Sligo, either, but its namesake is definitely familiar to Washingtonians. Sligo Creek and the Sligo Creek Parkway work their way through Silver Spring, Maryland, a close-in suburb northeast of Washington. As for Donegal, it has the advantage of being a lyric and poetic word. It's the panda-bear of placenames. Irresistible.

Was I the only one who bought those tears hook, line and sinker?

I was dead certain it was going to lead to a Sopranos style Hallmark moment where Paulie reconciles with his estranged "Ma".

Then the beating came, and I realized Paulie was attacking someone for daring to have a more traditional family life than he did. Those tears were nothing but self-pity.

This ain't Eight is Enough!
