Re: Sloppy Robbery
3This has been a source of contention for a while. On the one hand, we realize this isn't CSI, so we can forgive them not taking the time away from important plot elements in the show in order to let us see the wiping away of fingerprints, etc.
On the other hand, all the cocaine sitting around the Crazy Horse and the Matush killing became important when it when they were used to flip Ade.
I'm not really sure where all of this leads us, on the one hand I'm willing to suspend my disbelief concerning forensics, but it is frustrating on some level not to be able to predict when a sloppily performed crime might come back around.
I don't think there's an answer to your question, to be honest.

4I agree that I can suspend some reality but they go so far for truisms but then Pauly's touching everything. I hadn't thought about the cars but...there you go again.

Re: Sloppy Robbery
5Despite all the forensic stuff going on there are tons and tons of unsolved murders still out there. Also, a person once stated that police dont waste too much time with drug murders...if there are no forthcoming witnesses they throw it in the back of the endless pile of unsolved murders.
With the Eugene murder, I buy that totally. He didnt make a fuss, he didnt contact anybody, he was in and then he was out AND he was from out of town. No fingerprints and no witnesses. Check the scene again carefully and you will see that nobody paid attention to Eugene coming and none looked up when he left. That kill was clean and fast.
As with Paulie's scene, well they cut to the next scene after they found the money...who knows what Paulie and that fat dude did afterwards. I would assume, him being most experienced in murderer, won't forget to wipe his fingerprints.

Re: Sloppy Robbery
6I would think Paulie and the other guy would have cleaned up their mess quite the way the others cleaned up the Richie Aprile mess or the Ralphie mess.

Re: Sloppy Robbery
7Yeah I believe everything was dealt with, they didn't show anything after finding the money, so we must assume this is so. As for the Eugene hit, he was in another state so I can imagine him not being too worried about being identified.

I see now - you are all correct that they didn't complete the scene with them fleeing. So they did possibly stay around and clean up.
Now I need to go watch seasons 1-5 and start picking sloppiness up. We could start a 'goofs' section like IMDB has <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Re: Sloppy Robbery
9Furthermore, when Eugene shot that Teddy Spadokis guy, he didnt wear a face mask or anything when there were clearly 4-5 witnesses who could probably have subsequently identified him - Some may say that he planned to commit suicide and so it wouldnt particularly matter yet i think that at that time he wasnt contemplating suicide as he was still wiating for Tonys feedback and the FBI hadnt yet delivered their "Just Forget Florida" verdict

Who's to say that witnesses and/or cops were already paid off. Didn't Chris tell Gene that he'd have everything set up with a few calls?
And the Columbians, I assumed that they didn't clean up after they found the money. Why would they clean up? It's a robbery, let it look like exactly what is was, criminals robbing criminals. If anything it sends a messege to everyone that it's their turf and don't mess with us, unless you pay us protection and these things wouldn't happen.
