If Your Post Is Closed or Missing . . .
. . . there could be several explanations:
(1) Your topic essentially duplicated a topic that was posted before yours, either in the same forum or in another that suits the topic better. Don't take this personally, especially if (as is often the case) the duplication was inadvertently occurring at roughly the same time. It's just our effort to keep the board well-organized, consolidated, and easy to navigate. Initially, we will just close redundant topics so that the fact of their closing (and why) remains obvious to the originating poster. Later we will delete the closed topics entirely.
(2) You put the topic in a forum where it clearly doesn't belong (e.g., a topic about the whipping Paulie puts on a guy in the
Family Business thread rather than in the applicable episode thread or
"Family" Business" thread.
(3) The topic is still in the forum where you put it but under an edited title because you did a poor job of describing in the title what it was actually about. (e.g., "Carmela" instead of "Why was Carmela mad at AJ?")
(4) Yours was a topic asking where another moved or deleted topic went or why it was closed. That's what this guide is for . . . to help you ascertain that.
(5) Your topic (and post) conveyed only general feelings about the episode (e.g., "WOW", "I liked it", "what acting by Gandolfini") or was otherwise very insubstantial and did not warrant an individual thread. These comments belong in the Episode Review and General Comments thread that is attached as a sticky at the top of every episode forum.
If your topic title still shows up in the forum you chose but with the addendem "moved", be aware that that is a "shadow" topic (a link only) and that the actual thread was moved to a more appropriate forum. Shadow topics will be left initially for all moved topics as a friendly reminder that something was misplaced. Eventually the shadow links will be deleted and the moved post will exist only in the new location.
